The Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad, Nazim Ibrahimov, informed Trend that the 1st Forum of Scientists and Journalists of World Azerbaijanis will take place in April 2007 in Turkey. He stressed that separate forums for journalists and scientists, Azerbaijanis by origin, residing in various countries of the world will take place. These events are planned to follow each other. The forums are expected to be organized in Turkey. Taking into consideration that Azerbaijanis residing in various countries will come together in one country, there are plans to hold both forums simultaneously, Ibrahimov said.
According to him, the forums may take place in Antalya in Turkey. Touching on conducting the forums in Turkey, Ibrahimov said that organizing the visit of Azerbaijanis and guests to Antalya is cheaper from a financial point of view than Baku.
The Forum will bring together Azerbaijanis, who work in the media, from Azerbaijan and from various countries around the world. The Forum is also expected to be attended by Azerbaijani scientists residing in various countries.
The 1st Forum of Azerbaijani Intellectuals of the World took place in Antalya in June 2006.
