Next Meeting of World Child Parliamentary Assembly to be Held in Azerbaijan

Alizadeh / The next meeting of the World Child Parliamentary Assembly will be held in Azerbaijan, a member of the Permanent Parliamentary Commission on Social Policy, and one of the organizers of the Child Parliament of Azerbaijan project, MP Malahat Hasanova, said in Baku on 1 June.

According to Hasanova, despite the recent establishment of the Child Parliament in Azerbaijan it has already become a member of the World Child Parliamentary Assembly.

"Several days ago the meeting of the World Child Parliamentary Assembly was held. It was decided then to hold the 8th meeting of the general assembly of the organization in Azerbaijan," the MP said.

The World Parliamentary Assembly unites over fifty countries. The date and agenda of the event to be held in Baku have not yet been defined.

The presentation of the Child Parliament of Azerbaijan including eighty-five members elected for a three-year term was held at the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani parliament) on 1 June. The little MPs will hold their meting at the Caucasus College in Baku. The sessions of the Child Parliament will be held twice a year at the Milli Majlis meeting hall.
