Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Alizadeh / Haji Rajabli, the chairman of the permanent Parliamentary Commission on Social Policy, stated on 19 June that the granting of mortgage loans in Azerbaijan must not be suspended.
The chairman of the commission considers that mortgage loans are a social order and presently the process is in the development stage.
"The granting of mortgage loans is considered in the State budget for 2007. These funds must be used and granted in any form," Rajabli noted.
Rajabli stressed the importance of the adoption of law on 'Social Mortgages'.
The importance may be explained by the role of social mortgages in solving employment problems of the population and strengthening of the social protection of new weds.
"Currently, Azerbaijani officers serving in the Azerbaijani Armed Forces have housing problems. Social mortgages can solve this problem. Mortgage loans can be used for the construction of houses for the disabled," Rajabli said.
