Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / Ali Aliyev, the Chairman of the Civil and Development Party (CDP) OF Azerbaijan, stated on 9 July that the criminal trial on the Party's lawsuit against the Azerbaijani Justice Ministry was postponed. Constituent Assembly of CDP was held in 28 May 2006.
Documents for the registration party were submitted to the Ministry of Justice in June 2006. Despite a year having passed, CDP has not been registered. For this reason the Party has filed a case against the Ministry.
The preliminary hearing of CDP's lawsuit was held in the Yasamal District Court on 9 July. The defendant, the representative of Justice Ministry did not appear at the hearing. Fakhraddin Agamirzoyev, the judge, postponed the hearing for 16 July at 10.30 a.m.
CDP is presented by the Azadlyg political bloc.
