Azerbaijani-Turkmen Talks on Caspian Status will Continue in September in   Baku - Azerbaijani Deputy Minister

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Agayeva / The next round of the Azerbaijani-Turkmen talks on the Caspian legal status will be held in Baku at the end of September, Khalaf Khalafov, the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Ministers, said in talks with journalists on 7 September.

The talks will center on the definition of medium line. The head of the Azerbaijani working group said that during the previous talks which were held in Ashgabat at the beginning of the summer, the parties succeeded in determining their position on many disputable issues. Taking into consideration the potential of relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, Khalafov voiced his confidence in the success of forthcoming consultations.

The deputy minister said that the forthcoming summit of the heads of State of the Caspian littoral countries due in Tehran on 16 October will give impetus to future talks on the adoption of the final decision on the Caspian status and is likely to yield goods results in the unified approach of all five countries.
