(femalefirst.co.uk) - Just days after Oprah Winfrey hosted a West Coast fundraising shindig for Senator Barack Obama, basketball legend Magic Johnson did the same for Senator Hillary Clinton.
Clinton's three-hour event took place on Friday at Johnson's L.A. estate. The 350 guests included supermarket king Ron Burkle, music icons Quincy Jones and Berry Gordy, actor Mekhi Phifer and producer Gary Michael Walters along with several California politicians.
".Magic introduced Hillary as being born to lead this country,". said Christina Martin, owner of consulting firm Equity Strategic Relations, who attended the event. ".He was so emphatic about it that he was at a loss for words for a moment.".
Martin described Clinton's remarks as ".very exciting.".
".She said as soon as she's elected-before she's even inaugurated-she's going to be sending representatives around the globe to restore our diplomatic relations with other countries,". Martin said. She added, ".The overall tone of it was, 'When I'm in office' and 'When I take over.'
Unfortunately, Clinton's former-president hubby Bill couldn't make it. But no worries. Bill is the man of the hour at a Hillary fundraiser tonight at the home of CAA honcho David O'Connor and his wife, Lona Williams.
