New School Building Commissioned in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan / Trend corr. V.Mammadov / A new school for 630 places was opened in Shahbuz region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) of Azerbaijan. Some 587 pupils receive education in the school, and 39 pupils graduated from the school in 2006, the regional correspond of the Trend Agency reported. Some 23 pupils entered different Azerbaijani Universities.
Attended the opening ceremony by Vasif Talibov, the chairman of the Supreme Assembly of NAR. Talibov granted school uniforms for 34 first-formers.
Six schools have been commissioned in NAR in 2007. Thirty-eight schools have been constructed in NAR within 3 years. There are 260 schools in NAR. There are 45 classrooms and 2 teacher cabinets in the new constructed building.
The area of NAR is 5.5km sq m, which constitutes 6.4% of the Azerbaijan's territory. Nakhchivan consists of Babek, Sharur, Ordubad, Sadarak, Shahbuz, Julfa and Kangarli regions. Nakhchivan AR with its capital in Nakhchivan city has the population of 380,200 people.
