"A conference dedicated to genocide of Azerbaijanis will be held in the Kiev-based Samad Vurgun library. Talat Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Ambassador in Ukraine, representatives of Congress of Ukrainian Azerbaijanis and Diaspora will participate in the conference," Akif Gulmammadov, the Chairman of Congress, stated to Trend .
Regional representatives of the Congress will also hold events dedicated to genocide against Azerbaijani population.
31 March is the memory day of the tragic events in the history of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani people, which took place during the recent hundred years. The scandalous facts of massacre, repressions, eviction of Azerbaijanis from their native land may be considered one of the tragic pages in the world history of the 20th century. This tragic history of the Azerbaijani people reflects the Armenian chauvinism- mad about creation of the Great Armenia and not disdaining to use any means to achieve the desired goal.
According to the decree signed by the Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev in 1998, 31 March shall be marked as the Day of Genocide of Azerbaijanis.
