Azerbaijani court to reconsider criminal case of Russian citizen accused of intended murder

On Nov. 19, the Court on Heinous Crimes decided to send the criminal case on the citizen of Russia, Igor Bazhilevski and Anar Nureyev to Prosecutor's Office of Khatai district of Baku to conduct a new investigation.

Azerbaijan, Baku, November 19 / Trend , G.Bagirov / The Court of Azerbaijan will reconsider the criminal case on a citizen of Russia who is accused of intended murder.

On Nov. 19, the Court on Heinous Crimes decided to send the criminal case on the citizen of Russia, Igor Bazhilevski and Anar Nureyev to Prosecutor's Office of Khatai district of Baku to conduct a new investigation.

According to the sentence by the Court on Heinous Crimes, Bazhilevski was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment, Nureyev - 13 years and six months. On the basis of the appeal and protest, the sentence was annulled and the case was again referred to the court for reconsideration.

These persons are accused under articles 120.2.4 (deliberate murder committed with extreme cruelty or dangerous method), 120.2.1 (deliberate murder committed by a group of individuals, group of persons by prior conspiracy, an organized group or criminal association (criminal organization) of the Criminal Code.

Igor Bazhilevski is accused of the murder of Alexander Golikov, whose dead body was discovered on December 18 last year in the territory of Sabunchi district of Baku. During the investigation it was revealed that the day before the crime was committed, Bazhilevski caused numerous fatal knife wounds to Rafig Aliyev, the owner of the rented house in Khatai district. It was made clear that the crime was committed by two persons.

Bazhilevski recognized his guilty and named his accomplise - a resident Sabunchi district Anar Nureyev. The cause of both murders was money.
