Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office, Sheikh ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade will visit Iran on May 18, spokesperson for the Caucasian Muslims' Office Rahima Dadashova told Trend on Wednesday.
She added that Pashazade will visit Iran at the invitation of President Ahmadinejad, which was made four months ago.
Pashazade plans to meet with Iranian officials during the visit
The visit will not include discussions regarding the release of National Academy of Sciences (ANAS ) research fellow Khalida Khalid and her driver Shamhal Huseynov who are being detained in Iran, Dadashova said.
"The Foreign Ministry is dealing with the release of Azerbaijani citizens detained in Iran," she added. "But if this issue is being discussed during meetings in Iran, the Sheikh will express his attitude."
The Information and Security Service (ETTELAT) detained a research fellow of the Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) Khalida Khalid and her driver Shamkhal Huseynov in Iran on April 30.
