BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. The volume of trade turnover of Azerbaijan with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries exceeded $2.7 billion from January through June 2022, and its share in total Azerbaijani foreign trade turnover amounted to 34.04 percent, Trend reports with reference to the Bulletin of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.

Azerbaijan's trade turnover with CIS countries increased by 29.78 percent from January through June 2022 or $626 million year-on-year. The share of these states in the total volume of import-export operations of Azerbaijan increased by 2.56 percent - up to 34.04 percent.

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover increased by 74.87 percent from January through June 2022 or $10.6 billion compared to the same period last year, from $14.2 billion to $24.8 billion.

Exports, in the structure of foreign trade turnover, accounted for $18.4 billion, which is $9.6 billion (109.73 percent) more than in the first half of 2021. The share of exports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 74.4 percent against 62.04 percent a year earlier.

Azerbaijan's imports increased by $965.8 million or 17.91 percent in the reporting period, from $5.3 billion to $6.3 billion. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 25.6 percent against 37.9 percent a year earlier.
