BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 14. Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover (considering the statistical value of crude oil and natural gas, the customs clearance of which was not completed) totaled $4.59 billion in January 2023, the State Statistical Committee told Trend.

According to the committee, out of the total value, $3.17 billion accounted for exports, while imports made up $1.4 billion. As a result, the trade surplus exceeded $1.7 billion.

In January this year, the foreign trade turnover of Azerbaijan increased by $622.7 million (15.7 percent) on annual basis.

During the specified month, legal entities and individuals in Azerbaijan conducted trade transactions with partners from 136 countries.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan exported its products to 73 countries and imported from 132 countries.

The committee added that in January 2023, the foreign trade turnover in actual prices grew by 15.6 percent, in real terms – by 3.9 percent, including imports – by 18.7 percent, and exports – by one percent compared to the same month in 2022.

In 2022, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover (considering the statistical value of crude oil and natural gas, the customs clearance of which was not completed) totaled $56.2 billion ($41.6 billion - for exports, $14.5 billion - for imports. As a result, the trade surplus exceeded $27.1 billion.
