BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 19. The Turkish port of Gulluk handled 3.95 million tons of cargo from January through August 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye, 579,570 tons of cargo were handled by ships under the flag of Türkiye through the port of Gulluk during this period, and 3.37 million tons by ships under the flags of other countries.
"The Turkish port of Gulluk handled 84,466 tons of transit cargo from January through August 2023," said the ministry.
Additionally, during the same period, 2.37 million tons of goods were transported by ships flying the nation's flag through domestic ports.
Ships flying other flags transported 31.3 million tons of cargo through the ports of Türkiye.
In August 2023, Turkish ports also handled 5.5 million tons of transit freight.
From January through August 2023, Turkish ports handled 260.58 million tons of cargo.
Meanwhile, cargo transportation by vessels under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 19.3 million tons during the specified period. Cargo transportation through the ports of Türkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 241.2 million tons.
Turkish ports handled 46.59 million tons of transit cargo in the first eight months of this year.
