BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. Twice as many bee families have been resettled to the territories liberated from occupation, the Azerbaijani Beekeepers Association told Trend.

According to the data, 21,000 bee families were resettled to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan in 2022. In turn, this number will increase to 42,000 bee families in 2023.

"The resettlement of bee families is mainly carried out in the districts of Kalbajar, Lachin, Khojavand, Gubadli, and Jabrayil," the association said.

At the moment, some bee farms in Azerbaijan are going through a period of transition to industrial beekeeping.

Regarding new technologies used in honey production, the association noted that new molds using foam and polyurethane foam are currently used in the production of beehives.

Moreover, Azerbaijan has been increasing the production of this product from year to year, and the revival of beekeeping in the liberated territories has opened new horizons for the industry. The growth is largely due to the government's support of this sphere, which is now referred to as eco-entrepreneurship.
