BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 16. Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover decreased by six percent, or $2.8 billion (from $46.3 billion to $ 43.5 billion) from January through October 2023 year-on-year, Trend reports.
The data of the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan shows that exports amounted to $29.3 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is $5.4 billion (15.46 percent) less than the same period last year. The share of exports in foreign trade turnover was 67.43 percent against 74.97 percent a year earlier.
In addition, Azerbaijan's imports in the reporting period increased by $2.6 billion (22.32 percent), year-on-year from $11.6 billion to about $14.2 billion.
The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 32.57 percent against 25.03 percent a year earlier.
As a result, during the reporting period, the balance of foreign trade turnover, remaining positive, decreased year-on-year by more than $7.9 billion, or 34.39 percent - to $15.2 billion against $23.1 billion in the reporting period of 2022.
