BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 15. The volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan from January through February 2024 amounted to 954.7 million manat ($561.6 million) in actual prices, 0.1 percent higher than the figure for 2023, Trend reports, referring to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
The committee's data shows that Azerbaijan's production in the field of animal husbandry in value terms increased by 0.3 percent to 908.2 million manat ($534.2 million), and in the field of crop production - by 3.8 percent to 46.5 million manat ($27.35 million).
As of the first of March this year, spring crops were planted on an area of 64.1 thousand hectares, including grain and leguminous crops (including wheat) on an area of 11.6 thousand hectares, potatoes - on an area of 11.7 thousand hectares, vegetables - 13.5 thousand hectares.

Azerbaijan produced 46,300 tons of meat, 160,700 tons of milk, and 188,3 million chicken eggs from January through February 2024. Meat production increased by 1.5 percent, chicken eggs by 3.4 percent, and milk production remained at the same level compared to the same period of 2023.

Meanwhile, the volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in 2023 in actual prices amounted to 12.21 billion manat ($7.1 billion), which is three percent higher than in 2022, production in the field of animal husbandry in value terms increased by 3.2 percent (up to 6.2 billion manat or $3.6 billion), and in the field of crop production - by 2.7 percent (up to 5.9 billion manat or $3.4 billion).
To note, the volume of agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices in 2022 amounted to 10.984 billion manat ($6.4 billion), which is 3.4 percent higher than in 2021, production in the field of animal husbandry in value terms increased by 3.4 percent (up to 5.4 billion manat or $3.2 billion), and in the field of crop production - by 3.3 percent (up to 5.5 billion manat or $3.3 billion).
