Fourteen projects worth 24.1 billion tenge ($62.9 million) will be launched in Kazakhstan’s Almaty Industrial Zone in 2020, Trend reports with reference to Almaty city’s akimat (administrative center).
This was noted during the visit of city’s Head Bakytzhan Sagintayev to the industrial zone.
Currently, eight projects are being implemented at the zone. This July a plant for manufacturing of adhesive tape and stretch film of KazTigerTape company was launched. The project capacity of the plant is 1,250 tons of product a year, and the cost of the project is 382 million tenge ($997,900).
Two plants were launched in November 2019. One plant is for manufacturing of polymer products of ASSET company. The annual production capacity of the plant is 315 km of pipes, and the project’s cost is 421.5 million tenge ($1.1 million). Another plant is for manufacturing of heat and water supply equipment. Capacity of the plant is 23,800 units a year, and the project’s cost is 800 million tenge ($2 million).
Currently, commissioning and testing manufacturing is being carried out at five plants. One of them is the plant for manufacturing of steel welding pipes of large diameter of Asia Steel Pipe Corporation. Project capacity of the plant is 100,000 tons of pipes a year.
Manufacturing of energy efficient facades was launched at the Tekhnovid company’s plant. Project capacity is 520,000 square meters of facades a year.
One of the most awaited projects is the construction of a Hyundai Trans Kazakhstan plant for passenger cars manufacturing. The project capacity is 45,000 cars a year. At present, the Phase 1 of the project is being put into operation. Assembling of the first cars is planned for the near future. Phase 2 will be put into operation in 2020.
Another project is a plant for manufacturing of meat products and prepackaged food. The capacity of the plant is 3,500 tons of product a year.
Almerek company is launching the plant for manufacturing of single-use medicine goods. The project capacity is 29 million pieces of product a year.
