Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend I.Khalilova / The presidium of the Association of Azerbaijani Banks (AAB) is planning to convene its next meeting in connection with the necessity of settling several questions, Farhad Aliyev, the Executive Director of AAB, said on 20 September.
The rent of a new building for the association will be considered at the meeting. The present premises make proper functioning of expert groups established at the association impossible, therefore logistics dictate that something should be done to remedy the current situation.
Eldar Ismayilov, the President of the AAB also considers it necessary for the presidium to discuss the issue on the operations of the Insurance Fund of Community Savings, which began functioning on 11 August and presently unites thirty-four banks.
The members of presidium will be informed about the work on registration of a new charter of the AAB at the Justice Ministry of Azerbaijan, the visit to Latvia for signing an agreement on cooperation with banks of the country, a visit to Moscow for an official appeal for entrance to the International Coordinating Council of the Banks Association of the CIS, and Central and Eastern European, and other issues.
