Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr S. Aliyev / Many rail cargo carriages have accumulated at Baku port. As a result, transportation of cargo to Baku port for further delivery to Turkmenbashi and Aktau ports was temporarily suspended, according to Azerbaijan State Railway.
The accumulation of cargo was caused by disruption to ferry traffic due to bad weather in the Caspian Sea. All problems are expected to be resolved after 6 October.
The Azerbaijan State Railway is capable of transporting over 20mln tons of oil and oil products a year. Carriages loaded with oil and oil products go from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan via Azerbaijan to the Georgian ports of Poty and Batumi.
