Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. U.Ismaylova / Special rehabilitation centres for homeless children will be established in Azerbaijan, the Labour and Social Protection Minister of Azerbaijan Fizuli Alakparov, said.

"The centre will be established in Baku and may serve about 100 children," the Minister said.

There are many children's homes and hostels in the country which do not meet international standards. The children have to leave children's home or hostel when they reach 18 years old.

The Ministry familiarized with experience of a range of countries like Italy to establish such a centre in the country.

Officials of the Ministry will go to Italy to meet with their colleges in order to study their experience.

"We should try that each child in our country has a family," the Minister added.

There are 22,000 homeless children in Azerbaijan, the State Families, Women and Children Committee of Azerbaijan reported.
