Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Babayeva / The State Veterinary Service of the Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry denied reports by Aydin Veliyev, head of the Poultry Farmers Society, about exports of poor quality products to Azerbaijan by foreign countries.
"These reports are groundless and do not correspond to reality," the State Service said.
The State Veterinary Service said that Azerbaijan imports poultry and eggs are purchased from other countries at the recommendation by the International Epizootic Bureau. The import products possess necessary documents in line with the international norms. Specimens of the products are examined at the laboratories.
The head of the Azerbaijani Poultry Farmers Society said that presently there are serous problems with the domestic poultry market, because cheap poultry production are imported to Azerbaijan in big volumes and local producers manufacture products for stores.
The products imported from Turkey, Iran, Poland are as a rule of poor quality, Veliyev said.
