Azerbaijan, Baku / " corr. S.Babayeva / The Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister Ismat Abbasov is invited to attend at the International Food, Agriculture and Gardening Exhibition of the International Green Week Berlin 2008. The exhibition will be held in Germany from 18 to 27 January.
Abbasov was invited by the Federal Minister on Protection of Rights of Consumers, Foods and Agriculture of Germany Horst Seehofer.
The International Conference of Agricultural Ministers and International Forum on Agricultural Policy and others will be implemented within the framework of the exhibition.
The Ministry reported that the Minister will meet with Seehofer, Agricultural Ministers of European countries within the framework of the visit. Abbasov will deliver a report about the recent state of agrarian sphere in Azerbaijan.
About 400 leading politicians of Germany and other countries, including chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and chairman of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barossa.
Abbasov signed a joint statement with Germany to improve sanitary and fit-sanitary system of control in Azerbaijan as a part of process to join the World Trade Organization (WTO) within the framework of the exhibition. The Minister also took part at the Agrarian forum East-West Agricultural and bio-energy. The Minister met with Agricultural Ministers of Germany, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey and other countries.
The Green Week, which was established 82 years ago, will be held in 73rd times in 2008.
The organizer of the International Green Week in Berlin 2008 is Messe Berlin GmbH. And non-commerce sponsors bare the Association of Farms of Germany Deutscher Bauernverband, (DBV) and food industry organization of Germany Bundesvereinigung der Deutschen Ernahrungsindustrie, BVE.
