Azerbaijan, Nakhchivan, 11 March / Trend corr E. Mammadov/ The 140km-section of the road which is part of the International Silk Route running via the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan (NAR) will be extended. The extension work will be completed in two years.
The first stage of the works has been launched. During the first stage there are plans to complete the extension of the 100-km road linking the Umid bridge between Turkey and Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan city.
The work will be carried out by Gemigya LLC. The current width of the road is 10 m, with 7m of it covered with asphalt.
After the extension, the road will achieve 28m, 21 of them being asphalted.
