NATO Eager to Delivery Cargo to Afghanistan by Land Transport

Belgium Brussels, 17 March / corr Trend K.Konirova / NATO intends to restore talks with Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries for the implementation of land cargo transit for Afghanistan, a representative of the alliance told in talks with the journalists at the NATO headquarters in Brussels on 17 March, Trend Special Correspondent reports.

"In accordance with our calculations, the delivery expenses for each ton of cargo are €9,000 by airway and €200 by railway," he said.

The NATO representative reminded that earlier NATO held talks with the Central Asian countries in 2003, but no results were achieved.
