Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 March /corr. Trend I.Khalilova / As of 1 March 2008 a total of 45,310 people, with 48.1% woman, were registered at the employment services, a decrease of 10.3%, State Statistics Committee reported. Four people claimed at one vacancy.
In the reported period, economically active people in Azerbaijan made up 4,296,900, including 4,017,700 involved in economy, with 1,376,900 hired workers, whereas 862,900 people in Public sector.
Of the hired employees involved in the production spheres: 13.4% in industry, 4.7% in construction, 2.8% in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 25.3% in education, 19.6 % in wholesale and retail trade, repair of automobiles, home wares and personal things, 10% in health and social services, 6.9% in transport and communications, 6% in communal, social and personal services. 4.9% in operations with real estate and rent, 3.9% in state government and defense, and 2.5% in other spheres.
In January In 2007 a total of 4,400 foreign workers were registered at the enterprises and organizations of the Country. Of them 1,300 were involved in industry, 1,100 - construction, 9,00 - operations with real estate, 500 - trade, 200 - education, 100 - transport and communications and 300 - in other spheres.
Average unemployed benefit comprises AZN 100.4.
