British Consultancy Company Expects Consolidation of USD Rate to EUR in 2009

Azrebaijan, Baku, 14 April /corr. Trend A.Badalova / British leading independent macroeconomic research consultancy Capital Economics forecasts consolidation in the USD rate to EUR up to $1.4 from $1.5 in 2008, a source at Company reported to Trend . The rate of the USD to EUR on 14 April made up $1.584 against $1.5829 on 11 April in New York.

The rate of the USD to pound sterling in 2009 will average $1.7 against $1.9 in 2008.

Since the beginning of 2008 the USD decreased by 7.8% in relevant to EUR. Before meeting of the G7 in Washington last week, the European currency reached historical maximum at $1.5915.

During the meeting, the G-7 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors expressed concerns with the weakening of the USD rate. "Since the last G7meeting, instability has been recorded in many currencies and we are concerned by its consequences for the economic and financial stability," This statement was made as a result of the meeting.
