Kazakhstan, Astana, May 22 / Trend , K. Arinova/
The CIS Customs Union can be launched from Jan. 1, 2010, Russian Vice Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov said at a meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of Government in Astana.
He said all documents regarding the Customs Union will be designed until that time.
Shuvalov said Russian, Kazakh and Belarus presidents instructed last year to speed up the process by one year and to make all efforts to admit states to the Customs Union starting from Jan. 1, 2010.
"We had difficulties specifically regarding forming a single customs tariff," he said.
About 12 percent of issues have not been coordinated with Kazakhstan, he said.
"Me and my Kazakh counterpart Umirzak Shukeyev have been instructed to address these problems by June 9," Shuvalov said. "We must introduce tariffs in full volume at the meeting of three prime ministers in Moscow."
Single customs code can be adopted by end of the year, the Russian prime minister said.
"Documents have already been approved and there is legal framework. Over 27 international agreements already operate and 20 agreements need to be ratified. We have done most of the work," he said.
There will be no problem to the work of the union which will be launched on Jan. 1, 2010, he noted.
