Azerbaijan has already installed more than 236.9 kilometers of the water pipeline from the Oguz-Gabala zone to Baku with the length of its 263 kilometers, Azersu Joint-Stock Company (JSC) said.
"Work on the construction of the water pipeline are maintained simultaneously in four directions - in the Gabala region - in the direction of the Baku-Oguz, in the Agsu region - in the direction of the Baku-Goychay, as well as in the Atyali village of the Absheron region at the level of 190 meters in the direction of the Oguz region," Azersu reported.
The work on smoothing out pipes and the construction of service roads has already been conducted at the section of the Oguz-Gabala-Baku pipeline, as well as the work on the construction of road crossings and other facilities has finished.
A total of 50 water sources and 19 accompanying tanks were dug.
The German company JES Jonsulting engineers Salzgitter supervises over the construction of the Oguz-Gabala-Baku water pipeline in accordance with international experiences.
Construction of the water pipeline and installation of plastic pipes glassy isolated is carried out by a consortium of Turan Xezinədaroglu İnsaat və Ticaret, Tekser İnsaat Sanaye ve Ticaret, and Gence Korpu Tikinti 2 OJSC.
The capacity of the water pipeline is five cubic meters of water per second. In the first half of 2009, the State Oil Fund allocated 68.5 million manat to implement the project, and during 2009, it is expected to issue 100 million manat. The cost of the project is estimated at 750 million manat (over $930 million).
