Iran has overtaken the objectives of its Fourth Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan (2005-2010) in the non-oil exportation sector, the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran has said.

"The country exported some $64.5 billion worth of non-oil goods (excluding gas condensates) in the 53-month period as of March 2005, which is 42 percent more than the figure of $45.4 billion anticipated by the plan," TPOI Spokesman Alireza Shojaii added.

Despite the global economic downturn and slump in prices of goods, Iran's non-oil exports (including gas condensates) in the mentioned period stood at $80.9 billion, which is 78 percent more than the plan''s projected figure, the Mehr News Agency reported.

Iran is anticipated to reach the $77 billion figure in non-oil exports in the Fifth Socio-Economic Development Plan (2010-2015).
