Population's supply with drinking water in southern Azerbaijan improves

New lines were laid in the villages of the Masalli region to improve the population's supply with drinking water in the southern region of Azerbaijan, the Masalli Region Administration said on Sept.11.

Under the State Program on Socio-economic development of Azerbaijan's regions for 2009-2013, the Taza Alvady-Hasanli water supply system was laid in the region, the same source said.

According to the source, water supply system length 23 kilometers will completely supply the villages of Hasanli, Mammadkhanli, Kurdabazi, Gargalyg, Hajitapa, Khirmandly with drinking water

Currently, some 12 kilometers of the Taza Alvady-Hasanli was laid and it is planned to put the water supply system into operation by late 2009.

The laid water system will provide 20,000 villagers with drinking water, the source said.

The construction of the Arkivan-Gizilagaj water supply system length 21 kilometers is planned to be laid by late 2009. Drinking water problem will be solved in seven villages with the laying of this line.

The Arkivan-Yusifli water supply system length 17 kilometers was laid in the Masalli town.
