On Sept. 18, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the highway Baku - Guba - border with Russia (16-134 km) after the reconstruction, AzerTAj state news agency reported.
Reconstruction and laying concrete pavement at 16-134 kilometers road of Baku - Guba - border with Russia started in May last year. Contractor of the project was Akkord Company.
Within the reconstruction of the road, was carried out construction and replacement of communications infrastructure, built 20 bridges, nine passages for livestock and three overpasses.
Also currently work continues on construction of the longest and highest hanging bridges in the country in the city of Devechi across Devechichay River.
The bridge consists of 16 spans, with a length of 544 meters, width 23 meters, 21 meters high. Seismic stability of the bridge is estimated at 8-9 points.
