State Customs Committee publishes volume of Azerbaijani trade turnover with CIS countries

Azerbaijan imported goods worth $1.14 billion from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in January-August 2009, or 30.02 percent of the country's total imports, the State Customs Committee said on Sept.19.

Azerbaijan mainly imported grain (12.45 percent of total import), land vehicles (7.73 percent), electric machines, equipment and spare parts (11.16 percent) and etc.

Azerbaijan exported goods worth $974.94 million (11.36 percent of total export) to the CIS.

Azerbaijan mainly exported mineral fuels, oil products, bitumen minerals (60.55 percent of total export), vegetables (4.80 percent) and animal and vegetable oil (7.83 percent), sugar and confectionery products (4.80 percent) and etc. to the CIS.

Red ink worth $172.79 million appeared as a result of import and export operations.
