Azerbaijan to create private credit bureau

A private credit bureau will be established in Azerbaijan under the project on development of financial infrastructure in Azerbaijan and the Central Asia (except Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan), developed by the International Finance Corporation (IFC), IFC Project country Coordinator, Teymur Heybatov, said.

"The project will be implemented under support of the SECO. Under the project, the corporation will develop the country's financial infrastructure, including the formation of private credit bureaus and certification program for risk management," Heybatov said.

Anastasia Marina is Head of the IFC project in Azerbaijan and the Central Asia.

The project will launch in autumn, 2009 and will last three years with potential extension for the next two years.

SECO is expected to allocate $2.4 million to implement the program, head of the SECO national program, Naila Safarova said.
