The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry divulged on-line data on outcomes of 10 insurance companies' activities to which belong 84.28 percent of the total insurance collections and 85.4 percent of the total payments in January-August, 2009. A total of 28 insurance companies and one re-insurance company operate in Azerbaijan.

Xalg Sigorta has led in the ranking on the volume of insurance collections, as it was previous month and the most volume of payments was carried out by the state commercial insurance company Azersigorta, how it was in June.
Volume of the insurance market's premiums totaled 122.67 million manats. The insurance companies paid off 33.94 million manats. The Azerbaijani Finance Ministry did not indicate the activity of the only reinsurance company AzRe for January-August in the report.
