GDP growth rate in Azerbaijan reaches 5.6 percent

During January-February 2010, Azerbaijan's GDP grew by 5.6 percent compared to the same period of the last year, the State Statistics Committee said. At current prices, GDP amounted to 6.1 billion manat. GDP per capita amounted to 689,6 manat ($858,5), an increase of 4.4 percent.

During January-February 2010, Azerbaijan's GDP grew by 5.6 percent compared to the same period of the last year, the State Statistics Committee said. At current prices, GDP amounted to 6.1 billion manat. GDP per capita amounted to 689,6 manat ($858,5), an increase of 4.4 percent.

6,9 процентов добавочной стоимости создано за счет чистых налогов с продукции и импорта.

Total production in all sectors of the economy increased by 6.1 percent and made up 67.4 percent of GDP, where main part - 60.3 percent (3.7 billion manat) accounted for industry. The share of services in GDP was 9.6 percent.

During January-February of 2010, agriculture, hunting and forestry provided 94.1 million manat, or 1.6 percent of the GDP; construction - 336.2 million manat (5.5 percent); transport - 379.7 million manat (6.2 percent); communication and post service - 104.8 million manat (1.7 percent); wholesale and retail trade, automobile field, domestic products and repairing personal-use items - 437.1 million manat (7.1 percent); restaurants and hotels - 67.7 million manat (1.1 percent); and social and other services - 588.1 million manat (9.6 percent).

On March 17, the official exchange rate is 0.8033 manat to $1.
