International financial assistance to Georgia is growing, as the donor aid to the country is expected to reach $5 billion, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said.

"Instead of 4.5 billion that were allocated Georgia at the Brussels donors' conference in 2008, Georgia will receive up to almost $ 5 billion" Gilauri added.

The International Monetary Fund Board of Directors discussed the economic development of Georgia and approved the country's economic policy last week, he said.

The Georgian government has already signed a $3.5 billion agreement, while the remainder will be signed before the end of this year.

Realization of $4.5 billion projects are expected for 2010-2012. "It is very important for economic development and future progress," he said.
