TRACECA, TEN-T can be integrated

The European Commission and the Intergovernmental Commission's TRACECA Permanent Secretariat have discussed the importance of integrating TRACECA and the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), the European Neighborhood Program stated in a press release today.

The discussions highlighted the need for cooperation with the European Commission through closer coordination and further reform in the TRASECA structure.

Secretary General of the TRACECA Permanent Secretariat Eduard Biriucov also stressed the need to further build the political dialogue.

At a meeting, the current state of projects and tasks for next year was considered.

Participants agreed on holding annual coordination meetings.

TRACECA is an international transport cooperation program between the EU and its partner countries in Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia. The organization has a permanent secretariat in Baku.

At present, TRACECA member countries are Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Moldova, Romania, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Ukraine and Iran.
