As of Jan. 1, 2011, 98 percent of labor pensioners in Azerbaijan's rural areas receive their pensions via plastic cards, while the figure reached 100 percent in cities, the Azerbaijani State Social Protection Fund said today.
"In general, 99 percent of pension payments are made by plastic cards in Azerbaijan," the fund said.
The country has installed 497 ATMs, including 113 in villages and settlements.
In 2010, the number of persons receiving pensions via plastic cards increased by 10,363.
