State Statistics Committee: Uzbek-Azerbaijani trade turnover increased by 2.4 percent in 2010

The volume of mutual trade between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan in 2010 increased by 2.4 percent - up to $47.4 million, the State Statistics Committee said.

In particular, the volume of exports to Azerbaijan increased by 1.5 percent - up to $38.4 million last year, while imports from Azerbaijan - by 5.8 percent - up to $9 million.
The largest trade partner of Uzbekistan is Russia. Roughly 29.2 percent of the foreign trade turnover falls to it. The Uzbek-Russian trade in 2010 increased by 43.4 percent - up to $6 377.6 million. The exports of Uzbekistan to Russia increased by 96.8 percent - up to $4 441.2 million, imports from Russia declined by 11, 6 percent - up to $1 936.4 million.

Foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan in 2010 increased by 3 percent - up to $21 842.4 million, compared to 2009, the State Statistics Committee said.
In particular, exports increased by 10.8 percent - up to $13 044.5 million, imports decreased by 6.8 percent - up to $8 797.9 million. Trade surplus in Uzbekistan in 2010 increased by 1,8 times and amounted to $4 246.6 million.
The volume of foreign trade with CIS countries last year increased by 17.7 percent - up to $9 424.5 million, and decreased by 5.9 percent - up to $12 417.9 million with foreign countries.

Uzbekistan increased its exports to CIS countries by 50.4 percent - up to $5 898.7 million last year and decreased by 9 percent - up to $7 145.8 million - to foreign countries.

The volume of imports from CIS countries decreased by 13.8 percent of the CIS countries and by 1.4 percent - up to $5 272.1 million from other countries.

In general, the share of CIS countries hit 43.1 percent compared to 37.7 percent the previous year as of 2010 and the share of CIS countries - 56.9 percent compared to 62.3 percent in the structure of foreign trade turnover.

According to the official statistics, the foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan increased by 0.1 percent - up to $21.21 billion in 2009. In particular, the volume of exports increased by 2.4 percent - up to $11.771 billion, imports decreased by 2.7 percent - up to $9.438 billion.
