The Chairman of the Azerbaijani Central Bank (CBA) Elman Rustamov and WB regional director for the South Caucasus Asad Alam discussed the issues of conducting the second Economic Forum in Baku, the CBA said.
The implementation of the WB projects in the country was discussed at the meeting.
Rustamov said that the cooperation between WB and Azerbaijan intensively develops. Alam also expressed satisfaction with the level of bilateral relations and appreciated the WB activity in the financial and banking sector of Azerbaijan.
The possibilities of cooperation with the Azerbaijan Mortgage Fund (AMF) were discussed within the meeting.
Azerbaijan has been a WB member since 1992. At present, the Bank financed the implementation of 43 projects totaling $ 2.9 billion. It puts Azerbaijan into the third place by the amount of the bank's portfolio in Europe and Central Asia after Turkey and Kazakhstan.
