Iran's steel production increased by 13 percent

The volume of Iran's steel production during the spring increased by 13 percent, Mehr News Agency reported quoting the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development & Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

Iran's steel production in first three months of current solar year (started on March 20, 2011) reached more than 3.528 million tons while the steel production at the same period last year was 3.125 million tons.

The private sector had 59 percent growth in steel production during three months of current solar year (started on March 20, 2011) by producing 285,000 tons of steel ingots

Mobarakeh Steel Company held the highest rate of country's steel production by producing 1.405 million tons ingots while Khouzestan Steel Company and Esfahan Steel Company stands on second and third place.

The steel products growth was 10.5 percent surpassing 4.221 million tons while the private companies produced 1.138 million tons steel products.
