The Georgian government assumes that the number of tourists will reach 3 million by late 2011., Prime Minister Nika Gilauri and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Vera Kobalia said at a cabinet meeting.
Kobalia said that about 1,200 tourists visited Georgia over the last six months. She said that tourists from Turkey, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Russia visit Georgia.
Minister said that a special growth in tourist flow was observed from Iran and Azerbaijan, as well as China and Kazakhstan. It is stipulated by the activity of direct flights.
Prime Minister expressed hope that the hotel business will develop in Tbilisi.
