Turkmenistan is discussing with the EU the possible implementation of joint technical assistance projects, the Turkmen government said on Monday.

One project deals with providing assistance to implement Turkmenistan's economic strategy in terms of strategic planning, private sector development and technical regulation.

The other project touches upon issues such as sustainable development, conservation, environmental protection and energy saving.

Profile ministries and offices, research institutions and private structures will take part in implementation of these projects which aim at solving problems on integration of the Turkmen economy in global system of economic relations, creation of efficient mechanisms to attract investment, preparation and improvement of professional personnel.

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov noted at one of the meetings "urgency of purposeful deepening of international dialogue to create in the country favourable conditions for investment activities, development of modern financial institutions, further sustainable economic growth and improvement of welfare of the Turkmen people, making the country one of economically powerful countries."

Touching upon cooperation between Turkmenistan and the EU countries, the head of the state noted "at present long-term partnership reaches qualitatively new level and taking into consideration colossal opportunities and successes of national economies the sides seek to reach new advances of progress".
