Tajikistan's foreign trade turnover, including electricity and natural gas amounted to $398.7 million in January, 2012, increasing by 4.6 percent compared to the similar period of 2011, Asia-Plus reported on Wednesday.
Tajikistan's trade balance during the first month of 2012 is negative and exceeded $186.3 million.
Tajikistan had trade relations with 66 countries, including 9 CIS countries.
Tajikistan's trade turnover with CIS countries amounted to 46.6 percent.
Tajikistan's export made $106.2 million in January decreasing by 22.5 percent compared to the similar period of 2011.
The import hit $292.5 million during the first month of 2012, increasing by 19.9 percent compared to the similar period of 2011.
Tajikistan's major trade partners are Turkey, China, Switzerland, Afghanistan, Iran, and Russia.
