Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with Customs Union countries falls in January-May

Kazakhstan's mutual trade with the countries of the Customs Union (Russia and Belarus) decreased by 13 percent in January-May compared to the same period of 2011, Novosti-Kazakhstan quoted Kazakh Statistics Agency's head Alikhan Smailov as saying.

"In January-May 2012 the mutual trade turnover between Kazakhstan and the Customs Union countries amounted to $9.2 billion or 13 percent less than in January-May 2011," Smailov said at briefing on Friday.

According to Smailov, Kazakhstan mainly exports to the Customs Union such goods as mineral products (43.6 percent of all exported goods), metals and metal products (29 percent) and chemical products (14.3 percent).
