Telecommunications tariffs jump by 10 percent in Uzbekistan

Uzbektelecom will introduce new tariffs for universal telecommunications services from Aug. 1, 2012, a statement said today.

According to a price list approved by the Uzbek Agency of Communication and Information (UzACI), the monthly fee for using the main telephone for personal use connected to the telephone network via the subscriber line, will hit 2,035 soums per month (previously 1,850)
for the urban population, 1,540 soums per month (previously 1,400) with time-based payment system for telephone services.

In rural areas, the monthly fee for home telephone with time-based payment increases from 600 soums up to 650 soums, in case of the monthly payment system from 875 soums to 963 soums.

The monthly payment fee in urban areas increased from 1,900 soums to 2,050 soums for budgetary organizations, in the countryside - from 900 soums up to 970 soums, at a time-based payment - from 1,850 soums up to 2,000 soums and from 620 soums to 670 soums, respectively.

The tariff for organizations not funded from the budget, is the same in the cities, but in rural areas increased from 2,200 to 2,400 soums in the subscriber system and from 1,550 soums up to 1,700 - at time-based system.

The cost of each full or partial minute at a rate of 180 minutes included in the monthly fee increased for all categories of users from 5.2 soums to 6 soums.

Fees for new phone connection to the telephone network for the people and organizations have remained the same. It is 20,700 soums for the population in Tashkent, Nukus and oblast centers, 13,900 soums for the towns of regional subordination and district centers, and 5,200 soums for other settlementsThe tariffs for long distance and international telephone services, as well as for sending telegrams abroad remained unchanged.

Last time fee for telephone services rose on June 1, 2011.
