Kazakh Agriculture Ministry plans to stop subsidizing grain transportation costs from Aug.1, Kazakh Prime Minister's press-service quoted Agriculture Minister Asylzhan Mamytbekov as saying.

"(We plan) to eliminate grain export subsidies as from Aug.1 because these subsidies are economically inexpedient at the moment," Mamytbekov said at the government meeting on Tuesday.

Earlier, grain transportation costs were subsidized at the rate of $40 per ton from the state budget to stimulate export of record grain harvest of 2011.

In 2012 grain harvest in Kazakhstan is forecasted at 12.8 million tons. Dry weather conditions will cause significant decrease in grain harvest compared to 2011.
