Azerbaijani-Indonesian Business Forum will be held on Sept. 17 within Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Hatta Rajasa's visit to Baku, the Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry told Trend on Saturday.

"Around 50 businessmen, including 13 representatives of the Indonesian business are expected to participate in the business-forum," the ministry said. "They will present business opportunities."

The forum was organized by the Economic Development Ministry and Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation.

Indonesia is interested in establishing the direct trade relations with Azerbaijan. At present, import and export operations between Azerbaijan and Indonesia are carried out through the third countries.

The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Indonesia totaled $1.246 billion as of January-July. Around $1.219 billion fell to Azerbaijani exports.

Indonesia has an interest in developing the relations with Azerbaijan in the field of alternative energy sources, as well as technical cooperation, as both countries have experience in the production and processing of energy resources. Indonesia, like Azerbaijan, is a producer of oil and gas.
