Iran diesel oil consumption down 10.8 per cent

Iran's average diesel oil consumption stood at 105.1 million liters per day in the week to December 28, the SHANA News Agency reported.

The amount shows 10.8 percent decrease compared to its preceding week.

Deputy Manager of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Naser Sajjadi said on October 22 that averagely some 92 liters of diesel oil were consumed daily in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 20.

The amount is 4.2 percent more that the same period previous year.

Iran's average gasoline consumption also stood at 60.7 million liters per day in the week to December 28.

According to Sajjadi averagely some 64 million liters of gasoline were also consumed during the first seven months of current year, which is 5.7 percent more that the same time span previous year.

Sajjadi had previously said that Iran's gasoline consumption increases by 5 percent each year.
