Wind turbine producing plants to be constructed in Kazakhstan

Plants producing wind turbines will be constructed in Kazakhstan this year, the managing director of the Joint Stock Company "National Atomic Company "Kazatomprom" Valeriy Shevelev announced during the briefing of the Central Communications Service on Monday.

"This year we have made all the necessary tests and decided to start the construction of plants producing wind turbines. One of them will be situated near the solar panels plant (Astana Solar) in Astana," he said.

Shevelev also noted that currently work is being conducted jointly with with the Academy of agriculture on developing program on transhumance.

"There will be small "oases" in steppes, with water, renewable energy sources and all th infrastructure necessary for the creation of revival zones of traditional cattle breeding previously existed in Kazakhstan", Shevelev said.

He added that the mass production of wind turbines will allow to make them cheaper and available for population.

Wind turbines will also be used in transhumance.

According to Shevelev, a mechanism of counter-rotation will be used in turbines, where the efficiency is doubled due to the spinning of the starter.
